Youth Moose | Hunter's Smart Seat®
ButtonYouth hunter Samuel Golladay was shooting from his Hunter's Smart Seat® when he harvested this fine moose. Sitting above the "underbrush" was key during Samuel's hunt in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont with the Hunt of a Lifetime Organization Vermont Chapter.

ButtonA week prior to the Vermont deer opener I had built a blind on a hardwood rise about a mile from our family camp. I knew if I put my time in, I should have an opportunity the first weekend. I remembered that I had acquired a Hunter's Smart Seat earlier in the fall and since my blind had two perfectly spaced trees, I tucked it into my pack before heading out from camp in the dark on opening day. By the time I shot my deer Monday morning I had already logged 18+ hours on stand. The Smart Seat provided a level of comfort that greatly increased my ability to stay put. Everything about this product impressed me; It took moments to hang, I could adjust the height easily, it allowed flexibility for movement making it easy to cover all 360 degrees of deer woods around me without making a sound, but most impressive was just how darn comfortable it was. Thanks for making a great product. Glenn Dunning President, TUNDRATOUR Consultants North American Hunting Adventures www.tundratour.com

ButtonI love bear hunting with archery equipment and I wanted the challenge of taking a huge bear at eye level. I knew my setup had to be perfect, with the wind being the most important consideration. I placed my Smart Seat between two evergreens and got comfortably seated, waiting for my chance at a monster. I watched intently as two very big black bears, shooters by most standards, fed at the bait a mere 20 yards away. Then this bruin came in and took over. One of the bears stopped within four feet of me as I sat motionless in my seat. There was no question in my mind that the new-comer was the boss in the area, and I decided to take him. He was 19 yards from me when I took my shot. Killing a bear that later squared out at 7 foot 2 inches from the Smart Seat..... What can I say? Try it. You'll love the new dimension it puts into your hunt. Spencer McCuin Editor, The Outfitter TV Series

ButtonHi Sam, Bret, & the Whole Crew, I just want to thank you guys for developing the easiest most effective hunting seat around. I have spent a lot of time and money looking for comfortable ways to hunt longer and be more productive with my time in the woods. The Hunter Smart Seat has provided both, it has enabled me to adjust my location quickly and quietly to adjust for changing conditions. Best of all it has allowed me to look for places to hunt rather than places to sit. During bow season it is an essential piece of gear, if the conditions keep me out of my stand I can easily set up in a new location. It also allows for multiple seating positions, making shooting while seated easy. Plus the added benefit of being able to use it as a drag is awesome. Again, thanks for making the seat comfortable, quiet, and easy to use. I have attached some photos of last season’s success!! Both deer were shot while sitting on the seat, one with my bow the other with my rifle. Thanks, Andrew Duhamel VT Terrain, Owner Saint Albans, Vermont

ButtonThe second morning of opening weekend of Vermont deer season was foggy with light rain. I headed to the top of a ridge on our family hunting land. I arrived at the top well before daylight and quietly set up my Hunter's Smart Seat. Seated comfortably, I daydreamed of the perfect hunt. I visualized a nice buck walking right up to me. As I was thinking this, imagine my excitement when the buck appeared! I was able to quickly pull up and take the perfect shot. I love the portability of the Smart Seat which put me in the right position to take this fine animal. Marc Campbell Highgate Center, Vermont

ButtonI hunt the wilderness areas for big bucks and try not to pull the trigger on a buck that weighs less than 200 pounds field dressed. Once I know a deer is in an area; I'll live with him until he makes a mistake. I love to track bruiser bucks, but I'll also sit when I spot a good crossing. This style of hunting is what led me to develop The Hunter's Smart Seat®. Where I hunt, the less I have to carry, the better. The more comfortable I am, the longer I can stay where I know the bucks will be. The day I shot this 10 point, 215 pound buck I sat in my Smart Seat for five hours in the freezing cold. I was able to sit quietly because I was comfortable. When this big guy stepped into a small opening, I let him have it with a 7mm Magnum load. It was worth the wait. I then used my Smart Seat to drag him over two miles to my truck. I was able to drag hands-free, and it made my job a whole lot easier. Bret McCuin Developer, The Hunter's Smart Seat®

Having four young children doesn't afford me as much time in the woods as I would like, and because of this I haven't yet acquired the "closet full of gear and gadgets" that many hunters have. When I do get the chance to go out, I am usually borrowing a gun, gloves, and anything else I need. The 2010 spring gobbler season was no different. This year, my borrowed gear included The Hunter's Smart Seat. When I set up, I was thrilled to be sitting above the brush and deadfall. And what I didn't know at the time was that the smart seat would play another important role in my hunt. When the tom came in, he took a turn and went past me to the left so quickly that I almost blew it. The hunt became a "now or never moment", and sitting in my Smart Seat allowed me to quickly swing to my left and take the shot. I am left-handed; had I been sitting on the ground I wouldn't have been agile, quiet, or fast enough to make the shot on this beautiful, 22 lb. tom. Sherri Golladay, Raphine, Virginia

Vermont hunter Andrew DuHamel states he loves the Smart Seat because he can quickly and quietly adjust his location depending on changing conditions in the field. He took both this nice doe, and the buck(in the photo above) while sitting in his Smart Seat.

ButtonI knew that turkeys lived in the area, but it was a totally new concept for me to just set up and call. I wanted to try out my Smart Seat. I located the perfect spot in some cedars overlooking a field, trimmed a few branches, and I had the perfect blind. After about a half hour of sporadic calling I called a hen in to my decoy. She walked within grabbing distance and never noticed I was sitting there! About 15 minutes later, I heard a gobble and the game was on. Being up off the ground made all the difference. Because I could see so much further, I knew when to call to keep the old gobbler's attention. When he strutted into range the 3 inch mag took him off his feet and he never moved a feather. Is The Smart Seat good for turkey hunting? If you want to see better and sit comfortably, nothing else compares; I've tried them all. Sam McCuin Producer, The Outfitter TV Series

ButtonI found the Smart Seat by walking around at a sportsman's show and looking at all the cool things that people have to offer. I went up to the booth and started talking to Spencer and his mom. I told them my story of why I took up hunting... June 11 2008 a man pulled out in front of me on my motorcycle and I hit his landscaping trailer then the bike hit me! Needless to say, I sustained traumatic injures to my body including a shattered pelvis and a broken back, making it very difficult to enjoy most activities. Spencer and his mom offered to let me try one of their seats. So away I went with my new Smart Seat and back rest. The first time I used it, I knew it was my new best friend. This thing rocks. You can't even image the things you can do with it. I have used it for gathering fire wood, as a rifle rest, a blind, to drag a deer, a belt, and obviously, as a seat. It is light weight and small, easy and fast to set-up/take-down, and it is quiet too. I have spent some time sitting in my seat and it is very comfortable (and I can't usually sit for long anywhere). Hunting this past year I got my first deer while sitting in this seat and I have to say that it worked to my advantage. I was perfectly positioned between two trees with evergreens in front of me. When my buck walked by, 30-yards in front of me, I could count all ten points. He weighed in at 236 pounds and scored 147. I can't wait to continue my hunting adventures from my Smart Seat. This year at the sportsman show my hunting buddies all bought this seat not because I got a nice deer out of it but because this Smart Seat is truly the next best thing to your rifle. Whether you are scouting, hunting, at a sporting event or at the beach, this thing can be used by anyone. Thank you guys for the seat. This thing is awesome!!! Chris LeBlanc

First off I’d like to say this is the best hunting accessory I have ever purchased. It’s so simple I’m surprised I did not think of it first. I have been thinking about making a seat for hunting that would be light, compact and quiet for years. Now I can devote all my free time to hunting. I do however have two small complaints.
(1) I am having some slippage at the “D” rings. It’s not a problem as I just tie a knot after the seat adjustments are made. Maybe after some use the finish will roughen a bit on the D rings and slipping will not be an issue.
(2) I am having a hard time staying awake while sitting in your seat. I know this is not a product failure or a problem you can control but warning labels are something to consider. LOL Thanks for making a great product, Dale Brooks Brownfield, METhanks Dale! We're glad you're enjoying your Smart Seat and look forward to hearing of your hunting successes while using our product. In regards to the slippage of the O-rings, please note Step 3 on set-up instructions reads, "For extra security at the O-rings tie a slip knot and snug the knot close to the rings". We have also requested our manufacturers to sew more tightly the junction of the rings, which should remedy slippage on future seats. If you are still unsatified please call us; satisfaction guaranteed!

I bought the smartseat about three years ago. Everyday hunting and using the smartseat I smile more.
It is without a doubt the best hunting accessory I have ever used. I can set it up so that I am more comfortable in the woods than in my living room. Simply awesome.
